Aqua Plain
The Cane Fields are Flooding. The beach is eroding. The She-oaks roots are exposed. The little fellas' hair has been tamed by a blue-haired lady in a funky jump-suit. The limitations of wet weather were overcome when Grandpa's old toolbox was discovered. The magical contents of Grandpa's toolbox have been put on display inside the house, a new toolbox dedicated to Grandpa and all the making men in the family. The flood waters closed all roads to school, prompting an excursion to a big kids place of learning. Where the locals were friendly and inquisitive. Thank goodness for paper, scissors, elastic and staples - real life savers over another wet weekend. The roads cleared and the wind has blown the rain away for now, but what of the cyclone off the coast?

Love the family of pigs!
ReplyDeleteThey are troublesome here, always running across the road and we have been told by police and locals not to stop if we hit one with our car. The villagers can get upset!
DeleteNow what would the Pig family be doing at the Lumber and Hardware store? Buying bricks, sticks and straw for their children of course!
ReplyDeleteThey were heading in the direction of the market.
Deletebeautiful water!!! It must be great living there. How did you decide to live there? I am new to your blog and I was just wondering. I live in New York and love to read blogs and look at pictures from different parts of the world.
ReplyDeleteYes it is very beautiful, unfortunately where we live in Apia is not at the beach. My husband has work here teaching plumbers from all over the Pacific, it is an Australian Aid funded project and he loves it. It must be cool to live in New York.
DeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteI am a friend of Annies and just have to compliment you on my favourite gift which would have to be " I have a lovely pair of coconuts" I have been meaning to check out your blog for a while. It's great. Hope the crew are enjoying their contemporary dance classes.
You are oviously another gifted artist as your rainbow toe photos are soooo much more professional than mine.
Paula
I hope all is well in Samoa.
Hi Paula, thanks for looking in and for your positive comments. Annie is definitely the talented one and inspires me to have a go basically. I was hoping the coconuts would be appreciated and thought with Annie's sense of humour that they would be taken in the spirit they were intended. Life in Samoa is good at the moment and my husband has joined the dance crew which is a little worrying. Nice to meet you.
